The High River Fire Department won't be charging a fee they've never charged in the first place.

At High River council's Monday meeting, councillor Emile Blokland, while talking about the new rates and fees by-law, said one fee he wanted taken out was the $65 an hour charge for fire inspections of commercial properties.

It was pointed out during the discussion, no one has actually ever been charged the fee, and council was generally in agreement with dropping it.

There were some other issues, so the revised by-law will be brought back to council in the new year.
