The Carstar Okotoks Bisons played their third game in a row at Provincials in a game against the host team, the North Peace Navigators and now have a 2-1 record in the round robin as they won 5-3 on Friday night (April 5).

Connor Claughton would get the first goal with less than two minutes in the game to start the Herd off on the right foot. Navigators would answer with a goal of their own mid-way through the first. Bisons would answer with a goal of their own coming from Trevor Bonhem and Jady Shigehiro assisting on the goal with his first of three points on the night.

Navigators would answer again in the first period, tying the game headed into the second frame at 2-2.

Bisons would then take control in the second period with a goal from the teams wrecking ball Scott Brown halfway into the second frame. Shigehiro would follow that up with two goals of his own and finishing off with his three points on the night and his third goal of Provincials so far.

Bisons would end the second with a 5-2 lead and heavily outshooting the Navigators 31-19, as they have done against most of their opponents all season long.

Navigators would find the back of the net in the third, but it wasn't enough to stop the Herd from stampeding to victory. Final shot count was 41-23 in favour of the Bisons.

Bisons will play their fourth game in a row on Saturday night at 6:00, when they take on the Wainwright Bisons in a rematch of last year's Provincials gold medal game. This will be the final round robin game as Sunday is the medal games.
