The search is on for the next Sheep River Artist in Residence.

Artists are invited to apply to the program, where one will be selected to create a body of work that exemplifies Okotoks' culture.

The program is a collaboration between the Okotoks Art Council, the Okotoks Public Library, and the Town of Okotoks.

Tanya Zakarow was the inaugural Sheep River Artist in Residence, painting portraits of three notable Okotokians last summer.

This year's program will run for four weeks in September, coinciding with Alberta Culture Days and Okotoks' Month of the Artist.

It will end with a showcase at the Rotary Performing Arts Centre on September 28.

Applicants must submit a proposal of the work they'll be creating under the residency.

More information on the program, including applications, can be found on the Town of Okotoks website.
