Local school divisions are adjusting their schedules due to Monday's (April 8) partial solar eclipse.

Both the Christ The Redeemer and Foothills School Divisions have released statements saying they'll be keeping students indoors during the eclipse.

The Eclipse will be happening during what is usually lunch hour, starting just before noon, and ending at 1:38 p.m.

While there are safe ways to view eclipses, schools won't be able to ensure young students are taking safety precautions during the event.

Christ the Redeemer's junior high and high school students remain with their usual schedule, and will still be able to leave the school during lunch hour.

The Foothills School Division advises parents of students in half-day Kindergarten programs that they'll need to decide whether to send children home out of an abundance of caution.
