Kegan Law is the overtime hero for the Carstar Okotoks Bisons on Saturday night (April 6), after the Bisons beat Wainwright in a rematch of last year's gold game.

Okotoks would come back from being down 2-0 in the second and win with 1:34 left in overtime for a 4-3 victory.

Jake Snashall would get his second of the tournament and the first for the Bisons in the game with 6:38 left in the second to make it a 2-1 game. Easton Dean would get his second of the tournament with only 58 seconds left in the frame to tie it up at 2-2 heading into the third. Bisons led in shots with 26-14.

Daniel Tainton would break the tie, giving the Herd the lead with a power play goal with 13:27 left in the third period. Wainwright would answer with a power play goal of their own, evening it back up at three goals apiece. Shots were in favour of Okotoks at the end of the third with a 43-20 lead.

Law, who already had his hands on two of the Bisons goals on the night, finished it off with his third point and the overtime goal, sending the Herd to their second straight gold medal game at Provincials.

Okotoks winning the battle of the Bisons and the rematch from last year's gold medal game will have them taking on a team that gave them their only loss so far at Provincials, the La Crete Lumber Barons.

The gold medal game is at 2:00 Sunday afternoon (April 7).
