National Volunteer Week runs from April 14-20 this year, and the theme is "Every Moment Matters."

This theme helps to showcase the cumulative effect of time donated by everyone who is volunteering.

Every little bit of time spent volunteering adds up.

During National Volunteer Week, the town of Diamond Valley will be honouring those who volunteer in their community, by hosting their own Volunteer Appreciation night.

In a media release from March 27, the Town of Diamond Valley acknowledged the invaluable role that volunteers play in helping to create a stronger, safer, healthier, and resilient community.

"Volunteers actively engage in a variety of endeavours from influencing government policy to serving in our hospitals, schools, churches, athletic associations, and community centres. From across a diversity of backgrounds, all volunteers share a common trait -- genuine care for their community," reads the release.

Diamond Valley's appreciation night will be on April 18 at the Sheep River Library and will run from 5-7 p.m.

Anyone who volunteered in any capacity within the Diamond Valley community is invited to attend.

The evening will be filled with food, door prizes, and opportunities to connect with other volunteers.

Everyone who wishes to attend and mingle with the volunteers is also invited to come along.
