A sure sign of spring is coming to Okotoks this weekend.

The annual Okotoks Trade & Lifestyle Show is being held at the Okotoks Recreation Centre on Saturday and Sunday.

A collaboration between the Okotoks and District Chamber of Commerce and Okotoks Market Square, the event will bring together over 90 vendor booths to the trade show itself, and over 50 vendors to the artisan market.

Executive Director of the Okotoks Chamber, Dawn LeMaistre, says it's a showcase of all things local.

"We try to keep the show as local as possible... We try to keep it to businesses that actually service Okotoks and the area. Whether their business operates right in Okotoks or they're just outside Okotoks but service the area, that's really where our focus was. Just so we had the opportunity to promote as many local collaborations we can within the community."

That includes a wide assortment of local businesses, organizations, and service clubs.

"We've got realtors, home renovators, electricians, most of our service organizations within town, so the Kinsmen are out representing the Show and Shine, we've got the Elks there, the Simpora Foundation with their rubber ducky race, and Rotary is out there as well promoting their soapbox derby. The Town of Okotoks will be there with bylaw and fire and all of their toys."

A few local political figures and groups will also have booths set up.

"We do have RJ Sigurdson, our local MLA, as well as the Highwood UCP Constituency and the Highwood NDP Constituency, and we've heard rumours that there might be a provincial NDP leadership candidate or two that might be in-house over the course of the weekend, they've teased that on their social media."

A few food trucks will also be on-site, coinciding with the warmer conditions expected over the weekend.
