The annual High River Terry Fox Run is about a month away.

Organizer Brenda McCredie says they'll have a registration table set up at George Lane Park on Sunday, September 18 from 9:30 A.M. 12 P.M., with the run starting at 10 A.M.

She says you don't have to pre-register, but you can if you want to.

"You can go online to terryfox.org, and do some online pledging. If you need to find out more information, go to terryfox.org and you'll find the High River information, or you can call me at (403)652-8026."

McCredie says they had a record number of people out last year and says it's a great chance to raise some money for cancer research, but you don't have to be a hardened athlete to take part.

"It's not for 'elite' athletes, anybody can do it. It's a five kilometre course. We go around town, a lot of it is on the berm, so you go along the river, which is great!"

McCredie says it's a very "come as you are" event, where you can run, walk, bike, skateboard or do whatever works for you.
