Hockey Night in Canada is coming to Okotoks, sort of.

On April 20th, Okotoks Nissan will be hosting a Hockey Day in Canada street hockey tournament in their parking lot.

During this tournament, there will be three divisions with four teams per division.

Division one is for 6 to 8-year-olds, division two is for 9 to 11-year-olds, and division 3 is for 12 to 14-year-olds.

It will be a 4 on 4 (not including goalies), 20-minute run time, single elimination style tournament.

It's free to play, but they do ask for a non-perishable food donation for the Okotoks foodbank.

On top of being able to enjoy some street hockey, they will have a special guest in attendance.

Former professional ice hockey goaltender and current hockey broadcaster Kelly Hrudey will be there in the flesh.

"Kelly's going to be on ground and all the participants get a Hockey Night in Canada towel, which you see on T.V.," explained Okotoks Nissan GM Alyc Keith.

They will have arena boards set up for the tournament in their parking lot, which is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 20th.

Even though it is a free tournament, teams still need to register online to participate.

This is their first time hosting this event, but they are planning on making it an annual event with different special guests.
