High River's Jordie Fike is hoping to finish the WPCA season on a high note.

He's had a tough year, but pulled out an eighth place finish last weekend in Dawson Creek and is hoping for a strong finish to the year starting Thursday night in Rocky Mountain House.

He says he's going to give it all he's got.

"We've only got four days left, so I'm going to rely pretty heavily on some of the horses that were giving me the big runs last weekend. They've got all winter to rest after this weekend, so I'm going to make use of them. They've been getting stronger with every run and I'm just going to keep going with them."

Fike, who's suffered through a sub-par season, wants to end on a high note and carry some momentum into next year.

"Last year I kind of started to nose dive at the end of the year and it carried through this year. So, I'm hoping to bring my momentum the other way for next year."

Fike, along with High River's Jason Glass and Okotoks Mark Sutherland are out of contention for the World Championship, which will likely go to Luke Tournier.

The races run through Sunday, with the driver with the top aggregate time after all four nights taking the "Battle of the Rockies" title.
