The Annual High River Santa Claus Parade went off without a hitch last week, and after a record setting turn out of 10,000 people and 70 parade float submissions, the results of the judging are finally in.

Parade Chairman Ted Dawson says he was astonished by the amount of participation this year, and the work done to the floats.

"Kudos to all the folks who entered because there was a lot of effort put into the lights and the music on the floats."

After the dust settled, the prize for Best Float Overall was an unprecedented three-way tie between Lutes Building Centre, Heaven Can Wait and River City Classics Car Club.

Only days after the results were tallied, Dawson is already well into planning next year's parade, scheduled for December 1, 2017.

The theme will be "Celebrating 150 Years of Canadian Christmases"

Dawsons last bit of advice for anyone preparing to participate next year is this.

"Whatever it is you're entering, put lights on it, put some music in it, and come out and have fun, because that's the whole idea."
