Lower-income families from Foothills County, Vulcan County, and the M.D. of Willow Creek North of Highway 519 may be eligible for rental assistance.

Westwinds Communities is offering assistance to lower-income families through their Rental Assistance Program, which helps to alleviate the burden of rent expenses for those who are having trouble affording adequate housing.

Through this program, successful candidates receive monthly rent supplements that range between $75 per month and $800 per month to help offset the cost of rent.

Applicants must have lived in Foothills County, Vulcan County, and the M.D. of Willow Creek North of Highway 519 for at least six consecutive months prior to being approved for funding.

On top of having to be from the area, they select applicants based on household size, income, and location.

"We recognize the ongoing, increasing and very real need for affordable housing options, especially for those facing financial hardships. Through our rental assistance program, we hope to provide immediate, meaningful support. We want to ensure everyone in our community has access to quality, affordable housing," explained Lauren Ingalls, Chief Administrative Officer, Westwinds Communities, in a media release from March 25th.
