Young farmers can harvest canola to help other kids with disabilities.

The Easter Seals' "Crops for Kids" Program teaches grade sevens about farming and raises funds as well.

Troy Clugston with Co-Sponsor Monsanto explains...

"Kids were encouraged to grow an acre of the hybrid canola. And really start to participate and learn with their Dad, Uncle or surrogate farmer to learn about canola and how it grows and a little bit of hands-on agriculture for them.  Those kids that have grown that seed are encouraged to donate it back to Easter Seals
Crops for Kids - which is going to help disabled children in Western Canada."

Grown-up farmers are also being asked to donate part of their crops.

The charity hopes to fill a grain car in each of 500 communities.
