Advice for parents dealing with the back to school gimmies.

Debt Doctor Stanley Kerschman says kids don't need the newest, most expensive products.

"How I deal with it is, saying we're not here to keep up with the Jones' or the Smiths', we're here to be who we are so get comfortable in your own skin, get the backpack you need not the one everybody else is dealing with.  And alot of times I tell my kids - look we can't afford it."

He suggests giving older children school supply money as part of their allowance, so they can learn to budget.
