The Town of Okotoks will have some new wheels in the garbage game thanks to a purchase from Turner Valley earlier this year.

Okotoks Waster Service Manager Paul Lyons says they purchased the truck from Turner Valley and will add the new vehicle to their fleet.

"We picked up the truck from Turner Valley and Black Diamond, the truck was owned by them It will be used to collect waste from the region, Okotoks, Black Diamond and Turner Valley who we currently provide services to."

Lyons says the "new" truck will be used mostly as a backup in case the current fleet needs repairs or inspections.
