Former Okotoks Dawg and Major League pitcher Jim Henderson will have a new home come the 2017 MLB season.

Henderson signed a minor league deal with the defending World Series Champion Chicago Cubs on January 20.

Last year Henderson recovered from shoulder injuries to pitch with the New York Mets where he threw an ERA of 4.11 in 35 innings pitched while notched 40 strikeouts.

The Calgary native enjoyed his best season in 2013 when he was the Milwaukee Brewers closer and was 5-5 with 28 saves while recording a 2.70 ERA and had 75 punch-outs.
