A big 7-4 win for the Okotoks Dawgs Sunday afternoon in Medicine Hat as they move half a game up on the Mavericks for top spot in the WMBL's West Division.

The Dawgs Daniel Friedrickson got things started with a bases clearing double collecting three of his four RBI's.

The Dawgs also got multiple hits from JT Patterson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI's.

Blake Rowlett went 2-for-3 with two walks and scoring two runs.

Kellen Marruffo was 2-for-3 as well, with an RBI.

Brendan Rose was 2-for-5 and Michael Gretler went 2-for-4.

On the mound the Dawgs were lead by Nick Vickers, who was impressive in his first start of the season.

He went five inning, allowing just one run on six hits, while striking out four.

Taylor Davis and Tyler Burdett came in in relief keeping the Mavericks off the board.

Davis was impressive with four strikeouts over his two innings of work.

The Dawgs will look to add to their slim lead over the Mavericks Monday night in Brooks against the Bombers.

They wrap up their regular season schedule this week with four straight games at home, starting Tuesday with three in a row against the Fort McMurray Giants, and then their finale on Friday against Medicine Hat.
