The Foothills Falcons Sr. girls' basketball team fell short this weekend in the final four of the Provincials at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School in Red Deer. The Falcons Sr. girls team finished in fourth place after coming up just short against Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI) 74-70 in the bronze medal game on Saturday (March 16). 

The Falcons would lose their semi-final game on Friday (March 15) to the dominate Raymond Comets by a score of 105-63. They would take home a moral victory in the game after outscoring the Comets 12-10 in the fourth quarter. Dior Sellers led in points with 14 in the game followed by Addy Gwilliam with 12. Raymond would finish the tournament as Provincial Champions beating Western Canada High by 30 points in their gold medal game.

In the bronze medal game against LCI, Savannah Sommerfeldt helped carry the team with a huge 21 points in the game. It wasn't enough to bring the bronze medal home as Falcons lost a tight game.

The Foothills Falcons finished the season 27-6, only losing twice to the Provincial champions Raymond Comets. With the fourth place finish it becomes the best season the Falcons Sr. girls' basketball accomplished at the 4A level. Dior Sellers, Alexa Hayes, Addison Gwilliam, and Ella Watkins will say goodbye after playing their last season with the team.
