The Calgary Stampeders continue to work out at McMahon Stadium as they're running two-a-days to start their training camp.

Coach Dave Dickenson says there's always an ebb and flow to camp, particularly when it comes to getting the rookies up to speed.

"It's a matter of whether they can retain than information and they probably get lulled into a false sense of "Oh, we got this." But you can tell there wasn't a lot of mental busts, we knew what we were doing. The guys could just play fast and execute."

In the meantime, there's plenty of praise around Stamps camp for their number one draft pick, Hergy Mayala.

But the real buzz around camp is for veteran receiver Reggie Beggelton, who many, including Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, think could be the Stamps break-out star this year.

"He actually has the potential to be. You know a lot of these guys do. You know if we came out and threw the ball every play I could have five all-stars out there honestly. Depending on when the plays getting called and the balls go to him, he's definitely got a chance. But we all saw the potential last year."

We'll get our first look at the Stamps Friday, May 31 when they play their pre-season opener when the Saskatchewan Roughriders come to town.
