One group that's really been affected by the closure of the High River swimming pool, is the High River Tigers Swim Club.

Club President, Terri Walker, says they hope to be back home soon, after spending the last couple of months going to the Canyon Meadows pool in Calgary.

"We're just gearing up hopefully to get back in the pool here in High River anyway. Shooting for the 25th of February, once the pool re-opens here. We've had 16 swimmers that have been travelling two hours a day to get an hour worth of pool time. It's been a challenging season, but fun."

Walker says it's great to be able to find a place to practice, but the Canyon Meadows pool isn't ideal as they don't have the platforms the swimmers use to dive into the pool to start their races.

"So that's been a challenge too. Because we can't practice diving or anything like that. Because they're not one of the pools that were approved to be able to perform platform diving anymore. So, it's been challenging."

The club had their first meet of the season over the weekend, where they did very well, placing a couple of their swimmers into Provincials.
