The weather we are expected to see this week has caused the Town of Nanton to postpone their street sweeping until next week.

If the weather next week behaves better, the Town will begin sweeping their streets on Monday, May 6.

Their tentative schedule for next week is:

On Monday, May 6th, crews will be out cleaning the shoulders on both the North and Southbound directions of the QEII and then will be heading over to the Westview area once they are done.

In the Westview area, crews will be cleaning up 27 Avenue West to 31 Avenue, Westview Drive North to 20 Street, and 29 Avenue South to Highway 533.

May 7th will see the crews around the North Meadows Area, cleaning 18 Street North to 25 Street, 22 Ave West to 26 Ave, 26 Ave North to the Southbound lane of Highway 2, and finally 18 Street from 26 Ave to Highway 2 Southbound.

On May 8th, street sweepers will tackle 23 Ave West to 26 Ave and 18 Street South to 22 Street, and on May 9th, they will clean High 2 Southbound West to 23 Ave, and 18 Street South to 22 Street.

May 10th will have crews tackle Highway 2 Southbound West to 24 Ave, 22 Street South to 24 Street, 22 Ave West to 24 Ave, and 24 Street Sout to 26 Street.

Monday, May 13th, 22 Ave (Slade Drive) West to 26 Ave, 26 Street from 24 Ave to 26 Ave, and 26 Street to Slade Drive, and 24 Street by the Baptist Church will be cleaned up.

If all goes to plan, May 14th will be the last day of street sweeping in Town, and crews will clean between Highway 2 Northbound and Highway 2 Southbound, as well as 17 Street to 28 Street.

Crews will be starting with 20 Street first thing in the morning and work outwards from there.

Signs will be out a minimum of 12 hours prior to the street cleaning, and crews will be out from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The Town is asking for all parked vehicles, rubber driveway mats, and other objects placed in the street to be removed prior to crews beginning their work.

They are also asking residents to sweep all dirt and debris from their sidewalks and driveways into the gutter, so the street sweepers can collect that as well as all the other debris left behind from winter on the roads.
