Livingstone-Macleod Candidates are getting ready for a couple of forums around the riding this week.

They're in Pincher Creek Tuesday, April 2, and then Nanton on Wednesday.

The UCP's Roger Reid says he's not expecting to hear much new from voters at the forums.

"I'm fairly certain it'll be what I've been hearing for a year at the doors in terms of people are concerned about jobs and the economy and they want to see our pipelines built. And we want to see Albertans get back to work. I think we'll be affirmed by that by the concerns people raise at the forums."

Reid says he's already had a chance to chat with some of the other candidates.

"We had one informal event, with Cam Gardner and Tim Meech down at Castle Mountain Resort."

Reid got a little star power added to his campaign over the weekend.

Former Prime Minister Stephen Harper paid him a visit Saturday, March 30, in Claresholm.

Reid says the former Conservative PM had some encouraging words.

"Keep working! Same thing we've talked about all along, that this is a very strong conservative riding and we realize that. But we certainly won't take that for granted and will continue to do what we've been doing and that's work very hard to earn every vote in this election."

The Nanton forum starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 at the Nanton Community Centre, next to the Bomber Command Museum.
