At approximately 2 p.m. on April 15, Okotoks RCMP responded to a stolen vehicle being driven into town from Highway 2A, near 338 Ave East.

The vehicle was reported as stolen from a car dealership in Calgary earlier in the day, and with the assistance of the Calgary Police Service Air Services (HAWCS), police were monitoring the vehicle's movements.

Once in Okotoks, a brief foot chase ensued in the Cimarron neighbourhood and a lone male was arrested.

Calgary Police Service (CPS) HAWCS also identified a second vehicle as an accomplice, which was located in the Westmount Centre business park at Southridge Drive in Okotoks.

The Okotoks RCMP found the driver of the second vehicle on the footpath near the business park, and with the help of the CPS Canine Unit, officers were able to take the driver into custody without incident.

Both vehicles that the two were driving were found to be stolen, and both men were turned over to the Calgary Police Service so they can continue their investigation.

The two drivers are residents of Calgary.

Okotoks RCMP have already cleared the scenes and there will be no further disruptions to traffic or businesses.

There will be no more updates provided about this investigation.
