The Okotoks Oilers season ended over the weekend in their playoff loss to the Brooks Bandits but the coaching staff is already looking forward to next season.

Head Coach Tyler Deis says even with the loss, the Oilers season was a success.

"It's positive. I feel that everyone on our team got better. They matured on and off the ice. And that was a really good team they had over there. But, it was still definitely a huge, successful year for us."

Deis says the downside is they're going to have some holes to fill between now and next season.

"We lose a lot next year. We lose probably the majority of our forward group. I think about half of them are going to be gone. But that's going to give more opportunity for other guys to step up into bigger roles, which is what we want and then we've got some awesome recruits coming in."

Deis says fans will still have plenty to be excited about when the Oilers take the ice again in September.

"You know every year we're going to try and go for it. So, there's no rebuild or anything like that. Every year we feel we can be competitive in the league and give a good chance of trying to win."

The Oilers held their Spring Camp over the weekend and Deis says they have some great young players in the pipeline who expects to shine in camp in the Fall.
