A large-scale development on Dunbow Road East in Foothills County is back on the table.

Walton is a real estate investment and development group, and as the owners of the Oxbow lands, they are wanting to build a sustainable community on those lands.

The developer had presented their initial set of plans to Foothills County in January 2023, but at the February 1 council meeting, council refused the plan.

Council had declined the proposal, because they felt it didn't have enough merit to be supported, in particular to the development in the Bow River Valley.

They were also concerned about the amount of infrastructure needed to develop the community in the proposed location.

Now, Walton has made changes to their plan and are looking to share it with the public.

On Tuesday, May 7, Walton will be hosting an open house at the Davisburg Community Hall (258117 - 96 Street East Foothills, Alberta T1S 3Y7), from 4 to 8 p.m.

There will be no formal presentation, but people will be able to drop in as they please because there is no registration for the event.

On Thursday, Walton will host a free Information Session over Zoom, from 7 to 8 p.m.
