The Okotoks Dawgs kicked off the 2019 Western Canadian Baseball League season with a 14-5 win over the Bombers Tuesday, May 28 in Brooks.

It took the Dawgs a few innings to warm up as they were down 5-1 heading into the top of the fifth inning, but then the floodgates opened as they scored six times in the fifth, and then added seven more runs in the seventh to win in a walk.

Dawgs second baseman Liam Rihela was 2-for-5 at the dish, with three RBI's and a couple of runs scored, while left fielder Tristan Peters was five-for-six with a pair of RBI's.

The Dawgs head to Edmonton Thursday, May 30, then play the return match Friday, May 31, in their home opener at Seaman Stadium, starting at 7:05 p.m.
