Tanner McLachlan from Lethbridge had his dreams come true when the Cincinnati Bengals chose to draft him with the 194th pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft on Saturday (April 27).

McLachlan was drafted out of the University of Arizona, where he was a tight end for the past two years. In that span McLachlan racked up 79 career receptions which was enough to beat future NFL Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski's tight end career reception school record.

Last season McLachlan was able to enter the end zone with four touchdowns, 45 catches, and a total of 528 yards gained.

McLachlan will aim to make the roster as soon as possible and start catching throws from Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
