High Rivers anticipated 2018 Show 'n Shine is set to take place on September 23rd and event hosts are expecting over one thousand cars and their owners to visit the town this year.

Chairman Al Leonhardt says the event has a cars of every kind.

"Anything from rat rods to antiques like Model Ts, but predominately it's mainly models from the 50s to the 60s and muscle cars. We accept everything that has two or four wheels or even three!"

This year, the River City Car Club has been hard at work restoring the Eamon's Garage and events like the Show 'n Shine help fundraise for the effort.

Leonhardt says the they are making continued progress on the project.

"It's coming along quite well right now they are painting the exterior of the building, but other then that we are finished the front apron, and the antique gas pumps out front. It's taking awhile, but it's looking better everyday."

One of the main draws for the event is the raffle for a 1929 Ford Tudor, with proceeds going towards the Eamon's project.

However, Leonhardt says it's not only about the garage.

"The funds raised at the Show 'n Shine event go back into the community, we make sure to support all the local charities we can, such as the High River Lions Club, Rowan House, Museum of Highwood, Narrow Road Home and the Salvation Army to name a few."

Registration for this years event will be on-site, during the morning of September 23.
