The High River Pickleball club is looking for new members and are hosting an open house on October 28th.

President Brian Popowich says the club which just got going a couple of years ago isn't just for seniors.

"We really want people to come down." said Popowich. "We will supply the instruction, we will supply the paddles, remember it is not just for the seniors it is for the younger crowd."

He said once you get involved it becomes a lifestyle.

"We really want people to take that and run with it. And when I say people, I mean people of all ages, we really emphasis the youth also with pickleball, that is one thing with our club is we have younger members."

And he adds it is not just hitting the ball as hard as you can there is some thinking behind it.

"Once you get to a certain level we want you to think the game."

Popowich says once people make the transition they have great success at tournaments.

"And we do very well. High River Pickleball is well represented and is well known throughout Alberta."
