On-It Regional Transportation has hit the six-month mark for their Pilot Project.

On-It introduced commuter buses to High River and other communities in the Foothills in 2016, and are now working towards analyzing the data to make recommendations as they move forward.

Ettore Iannacito, Regional Transportation Program Manager, says these changes may affect High River as well.

"In terms of High River, we are looking to see which are the poorest performing trips, and how can we improve on those trips...or should we take that trip and cancel it. We are looking at all kinds of aspects."

When the program was introduced, the Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP) decided to err on the side of caution in order to get a better idea of ridership, which means these changes were not unexpected.

Iannacito says in terms of High River, the ridership is actually doing quite well.

"I can tell you from the get-go that High River started off slowly but has steadily improved over the months, and I think that bodes well for High River."

High River commuters that use the service can expect these changes to be rolled out by September 1, 2017.
