Claresholm will be the place to be this weekend as they host their annual Fair Days.

Justin Sweeney, economic development officer says there are a few new events this year along with the candy parade, bench show and car show.

It is a four day event with Saturday and Sunday being jammed-packed with events like the Candy Parade, pancake breakfasts, barbecues and a street festival.

"We are closing down 49th Ave.," said Sweeney. "We are going to have magicians and street entertainers and musicians and inflatable bouncey houses and food trucks and venders and markets."

Sweeney adds they are trying to build up the weekend up with some new activities.

"But we are going to retain a lot of the classics that everyone loves and enjoys like the annual bench show, of course the parade and Tea on the Lawn at the museum."

This year they are hosting a family dance in place of the fireworks because of the dry weather.

The bench show is one of the longest running ones in Canada.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for people to bring out arts, crafts, photography work and of course anything they have grown or baked.  There is a pie contest as well which is really fun."
