After a year off of road construction, High River residents are going to have to go to plan "B" for getting around for the rest of the Summer and into the Fall.

The Town has begun digging up Centre Street, starting with the portion from Third Avenue southeast to Macleod Trail in front of the Sobey's.

Both Second and Third Avenues at Centre Street are also closed in front of the Shoppers Drug Mart and the Highwood Centre Mall next door, but there's still access to Shoppers from Third Avenue and Sobey's from Macleod Trail.

The Centre Street bridge remains open and can be accessed via Macleod Trail.

The work is part of the Centre Street rebuild which is the last major roadwork to come out of the 2013 flood.
