COVID-19 cases and outbreaks in several local schools have been listed online.

You'd have to look further than the Government of Alberta website to find that information though.

Unlike last school year, the provincial government's website does not currently have a list of school outbreaks in the province, though information on school outbreak statuses is listed elsewhere.

The Foothills School Division launched its own COVID dashboard last week that lists active and new cases in division schools, with Christ the Redeemer Catholic schools also listing active cases on their website.

Outbreaks and cases for numerous Alberta schools are also listed on the "Support our Students Alberta" website.

The site was started by an advocacy group in the absence of an official school outbreak list from the provincial government.

It's crowdsourced, meaning the outbreaks and cases listed are submitted by members of Alberta's school communities and are often accompanied by copies of AHS respiratory illness outbreak notifications that are sent to parents.

Among those listed on the website are Big Rock Elementary, Dr. Morris Gibson School, Ecole Good Shepherd, Highwood High School, and Spitzee Elementary.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw has stated the province is working to develop a school outbreak framework, though she has also cited potential privacy violations that could come with that.
