Work is continuing on the Centre Street bridge in High River.

The contractor is installing the railings on the pedestrian side first as the plan is to open the bridge to two lanes for the Show and Shine and Balloon Festival.

After the events, the bridge will go back to being one lane in alternating directions so the remaining work can be completed.

It's expected that the maintenance work will extend the service life of the bridge by 25 years if regular maintenance is continued.

This project is one of the approved capital projects for 2021.

The project is to be finished by late September.
