The Town of Okotoks is getting ready for a busy week after Christmas as the heavy snowfall has pushed back some services.

Garbage and Recycling collection will be postponed for this week and continue as normal on December 28th, additional garbage bags are being allowed for any overflow of garbage from the holiday weekend.

Residents are being asked to bring their bins in to allow for more easy access for snow removal crews.

Excess recycling can be taken to the Eco Centre though it will be closed until the 27th as well as on the 1st of the new year.

Snow Removal crews will now start to move into residential areas to try to allow better access to priority one and two roads from neighbourhoods throughout the town.

Residents are again asked to remove and vehicles or road-based fixtures. (basketball hoops, garbage bins or other items)

The town is also reminding those who have fire hydrants on their properties that they must be kept clear in case of emergency to allow fire crews full access.
