Recent cougar attacks in Kananaskis Country has the province putting out information to let people know about the dangers they could face in the back country.

Dave Ealey with Alberta Sustainable Resources says your biggest defence against wildlife encounters is to keep your eyes open.

Ealey says cougar attacks are very rare.

Ealey adds there are some do's and don'ts you should be aware of if you do encounter one of the big cats.

Two cougars have been killed by wildlife officials in the last couple of weeks after attacking or threatening people.

No one was seriously hurt in either attack.
