16-year-old Okotoks native Noah Milford was drafted last year to the Western Hockey Leagues (WHL) Red Deer Rebels 150th overall in the seventh round of the WHL Bantam draft.

And this week Milford signed a Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Rebels.

Milford played minor hockey with the Okotoks Oilers in the Alberta Elite Hockey League U15 (AEHL U15), posting 87 points and 46 goals in his two years with the team.

This year Milford has split his time in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League U17 (CSSHL U17) with Calgary International Hockey Academy (IHA) and the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Grand Prairie Storm. This year with Calgary IHA, Milford has posted an astounding 46 points in just 29 games. As with the Storm he had a cup of coffee with the team playing in just two games but coming away with two points.

Milford will have many eyes on him moving forward as he tries to break the Red Deer Rebels roster as early as next year. It was an early birthday present for Milford as he turned 16-years-old March 7.
