Voters in Vulcan will only have a couple provincial referendum questions to cast ballots for on election day.

That's because there won't be an election for town council.

Current mayor Tom Grant is acclaimed along with incumbent Lyle Magnuson.

They're joined by Richard DeBolt, Coleman Dunham, Barbara Moore Coffey, Judith Ann Sanderson and William Smith.

The seven members of council will decide on who the mayor is at their organizational meeting.

The original nomination deadline came and went at noon Monday without enough nominations to fill out the seven-member council.

Co nominations were kept open until enough people stepped forward and all the seats were filled.

The same situation happened in 2017 but more candidates stepped forward so they did have to hold an election.
