Add another award to the Trophy case for long time Highwood Mustangs Coach, Bill Young.

He'll head to Edmonton Thursday for the 50th Anniversary of the Alberta School's Athletic Association Hall of Fame Gala.

Young says to him, getting the Hall of Fame nod, means he's done his job as a teacher.

"I guess I see it as an important contribution to kids, that they learn to work with other kids. A former Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Canadian Sports Hall of Fame member, Tom Inkster, made a point of saying, he always seems to be around the kids having fun. But I like to be around the kids, talking to them and things like that."

Young says he's had his good and bad experiences with students on and off the field, but overall he's enjoyed his years of coaching.

Young says what makes the award special to him, is he was nominated by his peers for it.

Young will retire as a teacher at the end of June, but says he'll stay on as a coach in some capacity if he can.

He says he'd like to try and get the Mustangs Wrestling program back up and running.
