A 28 year old Cochrane man is facing charges after allegedly claiming to be the owner of a horse and then selling it.

RCMP say Ashton Carson was acting as a broker for the victim and was left in charge of selling the horse for an agreed price.

Police say he allegedly claimed to be the owner and sold the horse to an unsuspecting buyer in B.C.

Carson's been charged with fraud over $5,000 and two counts of theft.

He's been released with conditions and is set to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on Tuesday, June 25.
