You don't have to be considered upper-class to enjoy a top notch polo tournament this weekend... you just have to make the trip out to the Black Diamond Polo Club.

Located just across from the Millarville Race Track, club member Jack Schneider says the club is a great place to spend a day.

"It's a beautiful setting, there's lots of exciting polo to watch," he says. "It's a beautiful spot, if you're looking for something to do on the weekend of (Aug.) 28, 29 and 30, come on out and watch, bring a picnic and enjoy some polo."

Schneider says if you've never played polo, coming out to watch could turn into any opportunity to try the sport yourself in the near future.

"It's a great way to be introduced to the game," he says. "If you have an interest, we'd love to introduce you to our polo school instructor, and we'll put you on a horse, and introduce you to the first time you swing at a ball off a horse. It's a lot of fun, it's like hockey off of horse-back."

Schneider says there'll be plenty of polo to take in throughout the tournament.

"We'll start at 11 o'clock in the morning, and we'll be playing until about 5 o'clock each day," he says. "Kid's polo will be around mid-day, and there'll be fast polo the rest of the day."

Schneider says the tournament is free to attend, but he recommends bringing your own snacks and refreshments.
