At approximately 5 p.m. on April 2nd, Lake Louise RCMP responded to a call regarding a tour bus fire on the Ice Field Parkway.

Of the 60 passengers that were stranded, 48 were youth who were on an international school ski trip from Tonbridge, U.K.

On top of the RCMP, local Fire Rescue, EMS, and Parks Canada all quickly responded to the incident and confirmed that all passengers were safely off the bus and were without injury.

The Lodge at Bow Lake has provided temporary shelter for all of the bus passengers until the bus company can send another bus to pick up the passengers so they can complete their journey.

It's believed the fire was mechanical.

This incident helps to showcase how the RCMP works with other agencies to ensure everyone's safety.
