Another avalanche has claimed another skier's life.

The avalanche occurred west of Lake Louise in B.C. on Cathedral Mountain just across the British Columbia/Alberta border.

The solo skier triggered a size 2.5 avalanche burying the victim.

The skier wasn't reported missing until late in the day on Monday, April 1.

Once a search was conducted rescuers located the missing skier from the air because one of the victims' skis was visible.

The victim was found to be partially buried with a ski boot also visible above the avalanche and while the person had a transceiver in their backpack it wasn't turned on.
