This weekend marked the kick off for the Polar Patrol, as well as the Christmas Market Season.

One of the many fantastic vendors at the Christmas in the Country Market, Saturday November 7

On Friday, the Polar Patrol was out at the Okotoks Christmas Market at the Foothills Centennial Center. This market focuses on supporting local artists and small businesses from Okotoks, Black Diamond, High River and Calgary. Santa was also in attendance, and $15 from each picture taken with him went directly to the Okotoks Food Bank. This market ran all weekend long as part of the Foothills Holiday Roadshow.

On Saturday, the Polar Patrol attended the Christmas in the Country Market at the Red Deer Lake Community Center. This market was hosted by Vintage with Flair, and had everything from jewellery, to home and seasonal decor to clothing. All of the artists and businesses showcased at this market incorporate a true vintage and antique feel into their work. Entry to this event was only $3, with a portion of that going to the Calgary Food Bank.

Sunday, the Polar Patrol was out at the final day of the Millarville Christmas Market at the Millarville Racetrack. This is one of the most anticipated outdoor Christmas markets in Southern Alberta, hosted by the Millarville Racing and Agricultural Society. This year there were over 200 vendors, all with unique products to sell. This family friendly event also offered a chance to get your picture with Santa and his reindeer, and to take a horse-drawn wagon ride.
