The High River RCMP launched their 'positive' ticket campaign yesterday, June 1.

It's the ticket campaign where they seek out children that are doing positive things in the community.

Not only do the kids get a ticket for being good but they will also get a coupon to use at a local High River business.

And they've also partnered with the High River Youth Justice Committee, the High River Fire Brigade and Citizens on Patrol.

Cst. Jill Kingdon-Mills says the RCMP officers are all ready to roll.

"You know, we're gonna have officers out there. They're gonna have a little actual ticket book and they'll be looking for kids in the community that are behaving well, doing wonderful things...being great citizen's of High River.

And thanks to the support of local businesses it's going to be even more rewarding for the children.

"So, they get a ticket from us, one that they can take home and they get a coupon when they get their ticket and the coupon is for a treat or a little bit something from a local High River business.

Not only do the kids get a little treat but they will also be entered for more prizes.

"For every ticket that's written each month we're putting them into a draw for a monthly prize.  Then every ticket that's written this summer will go into the draw for the grand prize at the end of September."

Kingdon-Mills says there is something a bit different this year.

"The officers will be asking for the child's name and a contact number from them so that we can enter them into the draws and get ahold of them if they win."

The positive ticket campaign runs from now until the end of September.
