Boy, the High River Flyers are having a tough time finding a win in the Heritage B Junior Hockey League.

It's not for a lack of trying either.  They just can't seem to catch a break like hitting that post on Sunday afternoon, sometimes the hockey gods just don't seem to shine down on ya.

They do have some new firepower on the front end with #14 Davis Sheldon recently added to the lineup which seems to have sparked the team.

He's notched 2 goals and 3 assists in 3 games.  As they say, 'He's got soft hands'.

The team spirit and will is definitely there and I had the great forture to do the announcing at the game yesterday.

Seeing the team work so hard, hit for hit, shot for shot and not getting a win is a tough pill to swallow and you can feel it in the air.

But when you're surrounded by family, friends and fans who love you, it can really make a difference.

So, if you can get some family, friends and fans together to go to this Friday nights game versus the Three Hills Thrashers, buy some 50/50 tickets to support the team it would sure be appreciated.

I grew up in Black Diamond playing on outdoor rinks in the Foothills and always dreamt of playing in front of a huge crowd.  I can still remember my Dad bellowing out advice and my Mom's shrill voice cheering her encouragement.  I know it sure made a difference so I hope we can all make a difference and come out and support them.

Puck drops at 8:15pm.
