The Restriction Exemption Program has been dropped in High River.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says it mostly impacts the Rec-Plex.

"We have lifted the REP as for the Premier's announcement, proof of vaccination, QR codes, those things are no longer required to enter the facility but masks will still be mandatory," he says.

He says if all goes according to plan the masks can come off March 1 in accordance with provincial rules.

The vaccine mandate for Town employees remains in place for now.

"The employee mandate, it's coming forward at the February 28 council meeting, my feeling is the council will just follow along with the employee mandate being lifted as well now that the REP is gone, but it has to be done through a resolution, that's why it's being done at a council meeting," the mayor says.
