One Vulcan resident has a good neighbour to thank, after RCMP responded, located and arrested two suspects believed to be trespassing on his rural property.

On Friday, November 22, Vulcan RCMP responded to a call of unknown people on a property around 6:19 p.m.

The property on Highway 529, was believed to be vacant at the time and police say the homeowner had not given anyone permission to be on the property.

Upon arrival, Mounties found two people in a garage on the property, with a cube van.

Both 53 year old Robert Enrique Sanchez Anazco and 52 year old Ligaya Alinsugay Yerbury were charged with break and enter and commit theft after they were arrested without incident.

RCMP ask that any suspicious activity be reported to them, even when it's not occurring on your property.

"This is a great example of neighbours watching out for neighbours, and allowing the RCMP to handle suspicious situations" says Sergeant Troy Dobson of Vulcan RCMP Detachment. "In this case, the situation was handled with no threat to any public safety."

RCMP say both men were released with conditions and will appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on December 06.
