A recent poll shows Canadians have turned to nature in significant numbers to help them cope with the impacts of COVID-19.

The Nature Conservancy of Canada's poll shows 94 per cent of respondents said getting out in nature and spending time outside helps to relieve some of their stress.

Director of Conservation for the Conservancy, Cameron Woods, says the poll was a way to check in with Canadians during these difficult times.

"Recognizing that there are more and more people spending time outside as they're looking for ways to get out of the house and just get some breaks and really to try to get a good understanding of what Canadians are thinking about nature in their everyday lives," he says

Woods says Canadians already value nature and the longer the pandemic lasts the more people are seeing how it can contribute to their lives.
