Due to the change of season and the melting of frost in the ground, Foothills MD has issued road bans affecting many of the roads throughout the region.

To protect the roads in their weakened state, trucks will be unable to carry a full load on any roads affected by the bans.

Mike Gallant, MD Public Works supervisor says most of the roads have a restriction of 75% G.V.W, while most paved roads are at 90%.

He added that anyone caught on these roads overloaded will face a very steep fine.

Depending on the weather, Gallant says the bans should be lifted sometime between the middle of May and the beginning of June.
